Debbie McFarland established Eldorado Bookkeeping in 2003, originally as a side business to her herb and natural medicines retail store, Rowan’s Leaf Herbal. Many of her herbal clients had businesses of their own and desperately needed bookkeeping assistance and financial empowerment. In response to those needs, Debbie accessed her accounting background and returned to one of her passions, accounting. Over the years, it’s been apparent that many individuals in the art and healing professions feel that their creative gifts block or hinder their ability to fully understand and manage their finances. Not true! With patient guidance and expertise, the most sensitive and creative can also be taught to have a firm grasp on their finances, often resulting in significantly increased financial prosperity and knowledge. Debbie’s personal goal, and the goal of Eldorado Bookkeeping, is to financially empower businesses and individuals. As a Certified Quickbooks Proadvisor, Debbie is up-to-date on the latest software and integrative apps, and is proficient in Excel, Word and Access. Debbie attended the University of Southern California in Los Angeles for both her undergraduate and graduate work. When not in the office, Debbie can be found hiking in the mountains of Santa Fe with her daughter and dogs, reading or painting in her studio.
